Jolly Ol' Missionaries
Ring my doorbell now
teach me all about the Christ
the Restoration too
Yes I know the Book is true
Can I be Baptized?
It's the best work you can see
To preach the gospel true!
HELLO FAMILY, FRIENDS, ELVES, GNOMES and REINDEER'S too!
Sometimes,
I don't like writing emails home because I don't know what to say. Like
today. Today I have no idea what to share with you all from this week.
So I guess I will take a few short moments to answer all of the
questions that I get/never get anymore.
One question that was asked was about the Christmas Zone Conference.
Christmas
Zone Conference was okay. Not my most favorite ever. It seemed like it
was put together in a very big hurry. Many of the Elders and Sisters
that had been around for the 2013 Christmas Conference said that this
years was quite a bit of a let down. Darn! But, it was still amazing. We
got to hear some wonderful testimonies.
And my
favorite was when they announced our mission goal to read the entire
Book of Mormon before March 31st. The purpose of reading the Book of
Mormon this time is to search for all of the references to Christ, his
gospel and his doctrine. It comes from the end Preach My Gospel chapter
5. Here are the requirements:
Provide missionaries with a clean paperback copy of the Book of Mormon. Have them highlight in different colors:
- – Each reference to Jesus Christ (any of His names or pronouns referring to Him).
- – His words (spoken by Him or by prophets when they say, “Thus saith the Lord”).
- –
- – The doctrines and principles contained in the Book of Mormon.
At
the bottom of each page ask the missionaries to count the total number
of items referenced. In interviews and during district meetings during
the two- or three-month period for this activity, have missionaries
share with each other what they’ve learned. You might consider doing a
similar activity with the entire mission highlighting references to
faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost,
or any of the fundamental principles of the gospel.
I
have heard a lot about the weather over in Wisconsin. No snow yet. That
is fantastic! I strongly dislike the snow. We don't have snow yet here.
I am so grateful. I can handle an ugly dry Christmas as long as it is
warm-ish, and I don't need to trek through the snow. Sister Woods is
praying for snow from the south though. (Silly Arizonian.)
Someone
asked me about Christmas plans. We are going to be crashing at the
McCaw's for most of the day. Their family invited us to spend the whole
day with them. And even requested that we come in our pajamas. YAY! I
don't know how long I'll be able to stay in my pj's, but I'll do my
best. Sister Woods and I have matching ones, so it's gonna be another
twin day. =D
Our
Christmas Eve plans include a smorgasbord party at the Richmond's. YAY!
I love their family SOOOOOOOOO much! They are so great. They're
inviting a bunch of family and friends. It will be a lot of fun.
I
have received a small mound of presents from home which is very nice.
THANKS ALL! I can't wait to see what's inside. Sister Woods has some
too. We have them all set up next to our teeny tiny tree. Thanks
family!
Mmmmm....what
else can I share? Transfers are the first week in January. It's CRAZY
how fast the time flies. I feel like I'll be transferred. Any bets as to
where I will go? Here are the possible Zones: Boulder, Loveland,
Longmont, Fort Collins, Greeley, Greeley East, Cheyenne, Cheyenne East
and Laramie. You should all post a guess and then whoever is closest
wins a prize. I don't know what that prize is yet, but I'm sure it will
be great.
I think that's all for now.
MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL and to all a GREAT WEEK!
See you on Thursday Family!
Love,
Sister Bryans
