Save the Drama for your Llama and more exciting stories from Sister B

*Makes awkward cow/donkey/moose noise - MWAH* That means Hello in case one of you lovely readers left your Urim and Thummim at home in the closet. (Get it.... a Mormon Joke. Haha...I know I'm not that funny. Sorry.)
So all dumb jokes and animal noises aside, How are y'all doin'? (If you answered this in your head thou mayest award thyself 10 points to your house. If you did not, I am very disappointed in you.)
I am doing well. Trying to stay busy and productive as I share the gospel to all who will listen.
The only problem is peoples AGENCY. Oh Agency, how I love you so! But you certainly make it difficult to help people accept the gospel.
So, this week - shall I tell you about it? (What would you do if I said, "No"?)
This week was special. We opened the week with housing drama, but thankfully that was quickly resolved with a card and some kind words. It also helps to make a concerted effort to change. Yes indeed it does.
This week has also been very slow. Not many teaching appointments which is always a let down at the end of the night. We have been making rounds and contacting individuals and families on the ward list who are listed as Do Not Contact. Oh Boy is that a blast! The ones who have answered their doors have been friendly but not interested. And the ones who have not, well.... you know.... I'm just grateful that no one has tried to shoot us yet. (I don't know why they would. I mean I'm the cutest Sister Mish they've probably ever seen let alone talked to. [I'm also full of it today, so don't pay super close attention to what I have to say; it's probably a load of old baloney.])
Mmmmm.... what else is share worthy?
We had a wicked snow storm this weekend. It didn't dump a whole lot of snow, but the missionaries in a couple of zones, including mine, weren't allowed to drive for most of the weekend. (PS. If I have never told you, a zone in our mission includes all the missionary companionship's in a Stake boundary. There are a few exceptions like the Greeley and Greeley East Zones which are two zones in one Stake area. Just thought I should clarify for y'all.) So anyways, walking around in the freezing cold didn't do much for helping find people to teach. Mostly we just stayed inside and studied/watched the District.
We did do some snow tracting yesterday.
After Church, we went to the Merrill's house for dinner, but we arrived super early. (Our plan to walk there was foiled by kind members who offered us rides.) Anyways, so we decided to go snow tracting. Snow tracting is different than any other tracting experience I've shared about. To go snow tracting, you look for houses whose driveways need to be shoveled and then you knock on the door and offer to shovel the snow for them....for FREE!
In our efforts to do this, we were able to shovel one driveway. It was really great! We almost shoveled two, but when we told the man who answered the door that we were doing it for free he said he wasn't interested. (WHAT?!?! o_O Who wouldn't be interested in free labor?)
Dinner was great. I just love the Merrill's lots. They are SOOOO FUNNY! (Hey Mom, the next time the Elders are over, you should bring out the wooden spoon and tell wooden spoon stories.) That's what we talked about for ever!
My studies have been different. I read almost all of the February 2015 Ensign. Wow! It was SUPER GOOD! I totally recommend it for you all to read. I'm pretty sure I told you that last week, but... No one listens to Sister B.
Mmmmm.... My studies have been good. I am still plugging through the Bible and Book of Mormon/Doctrine and Covenants. I hope to have read them all before beginning of summer.
Other than that though, life is swell. I love being a missionary, and I am trying to do everything that I can to become more fully converted unto the Lord. For, "He is my master, and he has chosen me to represent Him, to stand in His place, to say and do what He Himself would say and do..." (My Missionary Commission).
All this morning, all I could think about was the Plan of Salvation. It is real! It is true! I know that we all have a purpose, each one of us, in this life. The Lord has blessed each of us with special talents and abilities to use in building his kingdom here on the earth. He has given us the tools we need to return home to live in his presence.
The Church is True! No matter what hardships come our way.
Remember that I LOVE YOU ALL! And Remember that if you ever have any questions or are in need of any service - The Missionaries are here to help! And so is your friendly Mormon Neighbor.
You're all just so great! Thank you for your prayers and consistent support.
Luke 22:31-32
31
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
I pray for each of you regularly, and I know that you have angels among you to strengthen you! Do what is right! Let "thy faith fail not"! All is Well!
Love,
Sister Bryans
