Hi all,
So my brain is exceedingly scattered right now, so I'm not
sure how much of all of this you will understand or enjoy, so bear with me.
We had a super duper fantastimonious family home evening
with Ron on Monday. It was so great! We talked a lot about the Atonement and
his goals and desires and also read a chapter in Alma. It was so great!
Saturday and Sunday were Stake Conference which I love! I
always learn so much and the Spirit always is the forthright teacher. I
received some more Spirit kicks to the face as I listened to the talks on
Sunday. (I feel like everything I am learning in life is all about how
important the temple and marriage and families are.....I know I'm going home
soon, but my gravy! 99 is the perfect age for marriage.) Anyways - all of the
talks were very very good. I always learn so much!
And I've never heard more jokes in my life - I'll have to
tell you all about them one of these days.
Also, we had a really great lesson with our (drum roll
please!) brand new investigator Chris. He is awesome! He has been coming to
church for 2 months-ish. He's a senior in high school and wanted to go to BYU.
He's fantastic! I love the youth and their desire to join the church and find
the truth for themselves. It's great! :D We taught him the message of the
restoration and the Spirit was super strong. Love it!
I think though that the highlight of the week was District
Meeting again. We had a very good training on the talk The Music of the Gospel
(https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2015/04/the-music-of-the-gospel?lang=eng)
and how it applies to missionary work. We did some really great role plays in
which we practiced using the Book of Mormon and Prayer as the basis of our
commitments. It was good.
I also brought frozen grapes as a treat. (Aren't I so
nice!?) Of course - as with almost all food - it became a toy for the Elders.
Which made the afternoon really exciting. As I watched them launch frozen
grapes across the room into each others mouths.
BUT! The ultimate highlight was yet to come. During the
break between Sunday General Conference Sessions, the Elders were telling us
how great it would be to wear skirts because they provide so much freedom. So I
looked at the Elder doing all the talking, and said, "I'm pretty sure we're
the same size, I'll bring you a skirt to wear." And so as promised, at
district meeting, I brought the Elders 2 of my skirts to wear. I brought my
pleated blue one and a black one I inherited from Sister Z. And then the Elders
proceeded to prance around in my skirts for about 15 minutes. I was well
impressed. ;) I was also entertained as I watched them use my skirt as a
trampoline to launch the grapes from as well. (If I could send the video home
of it, I totally would.)
So yeah - that was our week. I wish I had more good stuff to
share, but alas - I do not.
PS> If you want pictures of the Elders in my skirts you
have to ask.
Love,
