Hello Friends and Family,
I hope this email finds you all well and happy. PS. HAPPY
EASTER!!!!!!!!
Also, I GOT MY TRUNKY CALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Your trunky
call is the phone call from the mission office that you receive the second to
last transfer of your mission, so they can arrange flights home and send that
information to the appropriate leadership and whatnot. It is one of the most
anticipated and terrifying phone calls you'll ever receive as a missionary. AND
I GOT MINE TODAY!!!!!) *keepin' calm*
This week has been beyond amazing! Sister Guymon and I get
along fantastically well. It is amazing to know that the Lord gives us the
people we most need in our lives at exactly the right moment so we can learn
and grow from them and so that we can help them to learn and grow too. We've
had some really amazing nightly companion inventories as she's helped me to
work out some stuff as I continue to prepare for the not to distant future of
returning home and starting life back up again.
But like I said this week was absolutely amazing! Dillan's
baptism was great! The youth have played such a huge role in his gospel
journey, and they did an excellent job at the baptismal service. We have some
of the most amazing youth. :D It's just awesome! Returned Sister
Missionary, Sister Smith dropped in from Utah to surprise Dillan which was
cool. It was good to see her again. And we successfully pulled off the baptism
with enough time to return to the stake center for more amazing General
Conference.
General Conference was a mind blowing experience. It seemed
like so many of the talks were speaking specifically to me and helping me to
prepare for the goals I have in this life. It was AWESOME! So what all did you
learn? I learned that the Lord is very mindful of me and is really good at
answering prayers even if I'm not expecting them because I've forgotten that
the prayer was sent heavenward so long ago. But, Heavenly Father is truly in
charge, and he most definitely answers all the prayers you pray.
It was super cool to see that one of the underlying themes
that I recognized from conference was that Heavenly Father is in charge of all
things, and he knows us individually and knows what we need and when. He also
knows that if we keep an eternal perspective and keep our covenants and the
commandments he has given us that all will work out according to his will. Patience
is just such a hard thing to learn sometimes. And Trust is equally hard.
Yesterday, I got a blessing from our District Leader, Elder
M. Christensen, and it was really nice. (There are a holy ton of Elder
Christensen's in the mission and it seems like half of them are in our Zone, so
I figured I would specify in case I ever talk about one of the other ones. So
hopefully I've spelled his name right too. *Awkie* ;)) Anyways, It
helped me clarify a few things that I had learned in General Conference, and it
also gave me a lot to think about. (Alma 39:17) I just love having the
opportunity to receive personal revelation on a daily basis and know that it is
coming from my Heavenly Father to me through the Holy Spirit. I am also super
grateful that I get to serve with such great Elders (though sometimes I
wonder...) who are worthy and willing to use the Priesthood to bless my life
and help me in times of confusion, trouble, etc.
Truly this transfer is going to be AWESOME! And I am super excited!
Truly this transfer is going to be AWESOME! And I am super excited!
Other than that though, I don't have a whole lot to share.
I know My Savior Lives! I know he loves each one of us, and
because of that, He performed the Atonement for each one of us Individually. I
know that Thomas S. Monson is a Prophet called of God to lead the church today.
I know that President Monson prays for each one of us.
I hope you all had a fantastic Easter Weekend and learned
TONS at General Conference like I did.
I love you all!
Love,
Sister Bryans
