Dear Loved Ones,
Monday, we had a water fight while we were supposed to be
washing the car, lol. I may or may not have started it. Picture to follow! That
evening we had a really bad rain storm so we spent our golden hour visiting LAs
and asking for referrals. We had a MIRACLE! We tried to see the Mannions, no
luck. So we were praying to know what to do and before we even finished our
prayer we got a call from Thomas. Didn't sound great.. Then later we got a call
while working about the Mannions from a member with info she got from my
sweet trainer.
Sad news, they've decided not to investigate anymore. :(
SO we went out and got milkshakes.
Tuesday, we spent the morning at Celestial Farms helping
with the bunnies. Their roof was destroyed :( But I got to hold one!! They are
so cute and cuddly. Then we tried to see someone we met last week but they
didn't answer the door. So we went and did service for Harry and Opal. I love
them! We got to help clean their home after getting new doors put in. And we
shared a 3 min restoration lesson with them before we left. After dinner we had
a golden hour and saw a new LA in the area. She was really sweet, the Elders
actually found her because she called them looking to get a blessing for her
son. I love that, even people who aren't active still know the power of the
priesthood!
Wednesday we had interviews! I love President and Sister
Lee so much!!!! Still haven't gotten a photo with them yet :\ Sister Lee is
working on organizing a Missionary choir because John Bytheway is going to be
here in December. It's very exciting. Interviews with President Lee were the
best ever! I received a lot of needed help and guidance. Afterwards as a
district we went out to eat at CiCi's Pizza, it was buffet style which worked
for the Elders ;) It was nice to just chat and hear their funny stories. Then
we went to do service for a recent convert who is getting ready for her baby
shower this week. We were spray painting decorations. It was fun =D Then we had a really awkward lesson attempt... Yeah. I LOVE BEING AN AWKWARD MISSIONARY!!
Then we went teaching with my favorite Sister Roberson.
She is so amazing! We took her to a new
lady we are working with and she made a really good connection. Then we tried
the Mannions and actually saw them! Miracle!! We didn't talk about anything
church-y but we had a nice visit. I am hopeful everything will work out.
Thursday we had district meeting and then correlation,
which we were both excited about because we had received some revelation on
what we could do to strengthen the Ward. Then we went and did service with
Jamie, and then had dinner with Sister Walker!!! I love her, she is the cutest.
We ate at Taco Bell. It's good, but I'm not the biggest fan. Then we had a
miracle. We were able to see a semi less active family and we got to talk to
Sister Curry, and the miracle part is that she isn't afraid to share the
gospel! She loves handing out cards and just being positive about work.
Friday was a crazy day. We hadn't had hot water for the
past couple of days, so we were cold. Crazy, right? Especially for Florida in
summer.
The first half of planning was great, but then the
maintenance man came, so we couldn't go into our apartment. And then planning
became very stressful. Then we had trade offs. I went with Sister Webb to
Hendricks and Sister Saxton stayed in Dunn Ave with Sister Reusch. I love them
both so much!!! Sister Webb and I did a lot of finding. We knocked doors for
like and hour and then got invited in by a older lady. She was really cute,
gave us a tour of her house and kept loosing focus. At one point we both made
her mad and she starting yelling. It was exciting. We spent like 45min there.. And then she
pretty much walked us to her car. But she felt bad for being crazy and gave us
both a candle and decoration to take with us. It was funny.
Then we went to
Dinner with Sister Leverette and her big scary German shepherd (which
apparently is always nice) bit my elbow. Yeah... No blood just bruising. In the
evening we saw one of their pro-gators and taught an awesome lesson.
Saturday was awesome! Sister Webb and I really enjoyed
studies together and after lunch we took one of the YW to a lesson with us and
used how to begin teaching and it was a really awesome lesson. Then all our
other lessons canceled last minute so we went to the church and sent a
scripture text. Before having a really good goal discussion and doing iPad
checks. We traded back around 2, and then had an awesome mini lesson with a
media referral, and we invited him to be baptized! And he said yes. It was
great!! Then we did a referral golden hour, and called a lot of people. Then we
had a lesson with Luanna, and it was interesting, but we did invite her to be baptized. She has a lot of questions, and some odd ideas, but she seems honest
enough and I love her. :) After dinner we did some finding and then we saw a
new investigator who is no longer interested. But she was so sweet!!! We
interrupted their dinner time so they fed us gumbo. It was spicy, seafood-y and
so good! I love nice people. Then we got DQ Blizzards and went to see the
Langenfelds. We had a good lesson it was a bit helter-skelter 3 min restoration but
we did invite Kurt to be Baptized and he said yes. I am going to pray mightily that
everything works out!
Sunday we had a lovely church meeting. After our
afternoon studies and dinner we ran to the Langs to drop off a pie. They were
really excited and I loved making it!! We also made a peanut butter mousse over
a chocolate cheerio crust. Don't ask lol
but it was good and we took it to Genesis Choir. Think gospel soul music. It
was amazing and I loved it so much!! and Harry came. YAY! =D We got to speak
with a few non-members during refreshments and the conductor asked for the
mousse recipe. So that was fun. Overall a really awesome, busy week.
All my love,
Sister Bryans
