Hello! This was a pretty quick week. I feel like time just keeps speeding up like we're sledding down hill and can't find the breaks.. haha.
Monday was a fun day! We had a District pday picnic. However prior to that sister Tryon and I went to brunch it was so yummy! At the picnic we played ultimate Frisbee and I actually had a lot of fun. I was able to stop a pass and everyone was pretty shocked haha. ;) Also the zone leaders borrowed a members dog named Tank and it was so FUN! I love puppies. And we played never-have-I-ever it was fun and we got to know each other better. We went to dinner with the Bishop and it was pretty tasty. I wasn't feeling so well after so we went to a gas station and got some tums.
Tuesday was interviews with the President. And my goodness I love him so much! I feel so blessed to have him leading this mission and I am so thankful for his love. We had a miracle I wanted to share! After our interviews we went with the Whitehouse sisters to lunch at firehouse and as Sister Tryon and i were finishing ordering the employee, Micheal, helping us asked about our beliefs and we answered his question and offered to show him a minute long video about our church services, he accepted but said he was on the clock and since he only had about 15 more minutes we offered to talk to him after. And went to eat. When he got off he started to walk out and I could tell he was deciding what he wanted to do and he came over to talk to us!! We showed him the video and then we were able to teach the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was so open, he had some questions but we were able to address them and we gave him a Book of Mormon to read and he said he really felt like he needed too. Then we invited him to pray and although he felt really awkward and almost didn't, he said the most powerful and sincere prayer I've heard in a while. It was awesome! He lives in Middleburg and we sent him as a referral and now he's a new investigator for them. It was so great to just be were the Lord needed us and talking to everyone. I have such a testimony that there are seekers out there and we don't know where and that WHY we talk to everyone! Miracles (:
Wednesday we went and did a bit of service for a less active sister and her mother. It was nice and we had a good visit. Then a member reached out offering to feed us dinner because she'd made a lot and was feeding the elders. So we went early and ate with them, they made this tasty pasta salad with chicken and grapes. It was so good!! Hurrah for leftovers. ;) In the evening we went with our cutie Grandma member to visit a less active sister. It was really good and she was so bold! I was blown away. And I just love cute old ladies.
Thursday we had our weekly planning. I wasn't feeling so good so it was a blessing to have something to keep us inside. Our planning was very effective and we are gonna have a great week! After planning we went to do service at teachers depot. Sister Tryon and I got to work in the production lab, doing cut-outs. It's always my favorite thing!! Then we came home and grabbed some dinner quick. And went to have some lessons with Lindsay, the first was in a trailer park.. we got crazy lost because we had the wrong lot number it was funny. Then we met some nice Spanish people and sent the zone leaders a referral! Our next lesson was with a nice couple who gave us dinner to take home. So much YUM! Then to finish our busy night we went to see our recent convert Maya and read 1st Nephi 8 with her. She ended up giving us a box of juice pouches haha it was a good day with lots of food :)
Friday I was doing my personal study and hear a weed Wacker outside our apartment and I felt this strong impression to go out and talk to whoever the person was with the weed Wacker but I pushed it off, because studies are important and I didn't want to interrupt my companion. SHE when the noise was about gone I felt sick inside because I knew I had ignored a prompting, SO I got my companion and we rushed outside to try and find the person... but couldn't we walked around the whole complex and didn't find them. I felt so discouraged and and awful inside, I really felt like I had let the Lord down. But I felt a different prompting just to walk around the back of the apartment and right as we went I looked down and found a bright shiny new penny. (I've been picking up penny's for a good part of my mission as a reminder of God's love and the blessings in every day.) And immediately the thought came, "I still love you." I know it was a reminder from Heavenly father that despite my imperfections and shortcomings he still loves me. I am so thankful that he is a merciful God and that he has so much love and compassion for his children. It was just another turning point for me. We went out and saw a cute old lady who was a referral from Palatka and then we went to lunch with Brother Carroll, he is such a cutie! He's like our grandpa and it was fun to visit. After Lunch we went out to visit a few people with Melanie and it was a blast! She's gonna be such an awesome missionary. Then at 3ish we went with the Whitehouse sisters to the stake center for the Brad Wilcox fireside. Once again all the missionaries got to sing and it was beautiful! I really felt the spirit and the talk was awesome too! We got home a bit late, but it was worth it.
Saturday we went and served at bread-line and got rained out! It was a blast though, we need lots and lots of rain right now. Then we came home and were able to finish our studies. We had a little spat with some of our sisters and that was upsetting to say the least. I also slept very, very poorly and wasn't feeling well at all. :\ it's been a long sick week haha. We went to a far part of our area and worked with some less actives. The we went to domino's and grabbed dinner, it made me feel worse but boy did it taste good! So I finally called sister Cengiz and she recommended doing a test period without gluten or dairy. I think I've decided to cut out dairy and see if that helps at all. High hopes! In the evening we had transfer call and yay! Sister Tryon and I are staying together! Whoo-hoo! I am very happy, she's amazing. And I know this next transfer is gonna be awesome.
Sunday was mothers DAY! I was crazy sick, haha. It was nice to talk to my family at home. I love you!! We sang in sacrament meeting with the elders and it was really nice everyone loved it. Then we had a nice little brunch in relief society and that was cute. After church we went to our new ward mission leaders for lunch. And then we came home and I rested for a bit. Then we went back to church and I got a blessing before talking with the family. We ate dinner with the Duling's and I love THEM! Then we came home and made phone calls and I rested a bit more. The night ended with crisis class and being able to help struggling sisters. It was a Blessing! (:
I love being a missionary so much! It is just such a blessing. I love that I have the ability to teach and testify and lift those around me. I know that this church is true and that Heavenly father loves us so fully that all he does is to help is get home to him. I lvoe my savior and I am so thankful for his sacrifice for me and for those I love. Being a missionary is the best!
