It's beginning to look a lot like Spring Time!!

Hello to all who are curious about the life and adventures of your favorite missionary Sister Bryans:

(Was that a little prideful, probably. One of the many Christlike attributes I am striving to develop...Humility.)
This week was one of the hardest weeks I have ever been a part of.
Almost all of our lessons canceled on us. One of our investigators dropped us. None of our investigators are progressing. Most of our dinners canceled on us do to sickness or an unexpected family interference. But, life is great.
I am truly beginning to understand the importance of fasting and praying for the cause of missionary work.
Our goal and focus for the rest of the transfer is to find a family who has been prepared and is ready to hear the messages of the Restored Gospel and that this same family will commit to be baptized. I pray for this almost every time I pray. I think the only time I don't is during a meal prayer. This will happen if we do all we can, have faith, trust in the Lord and leave it up to his will and timing.
Also, I have decided to read the rest of the Book of Mormon by the end of the transfer. I am currently two chapters away from finishing Alma. It is such an awesome goal and experience. I have also decided that, during my next transfer, I will read the entire Book of Mormon. 6 weeks to read 531 pages - challenge accepted!
I am also still reading the Old Testament. I am in Exodus right now and am about 10 chapters away from Leviticus. The Bible is crazy fun to read. And, I am so glad that I don't have to live the Law of Moses. There are so many rules and regulations that my brain is ready to explode. I am so grateful that the Law of Moses was fulfilled when the Savior completed the Atonement.
On Friday, we had the first ever Sisters Conference of the Colorado Fort Collins mission. It was amazing! I learned so much.
Here are some Highlights from the Conference:

"I will bring the Light of the Gospel into my Home by: Greeting the day with a song, Giving joy to others and Serving gladly."
Remember that Our Purpose as missionaries (Member and Full Time) is to, "Invite others to come unto Christ..." By inviting others, we 1) invite ourselves 2) invite our companions and 3) invite our friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members (The whole world).
We should be Modest because we represent the Lord Jesus Christ. Everything we do should represent the Savior. We should be Professional and Conservative , so we do not detract from the Spirit.
"You don't ever realize how strong you are until strength is all you have left." "Bravery is acting in faith." - Courage: Mormon Messages video
On Sunday, when we look in the mirror, we should be preparing ourselves to present ourselves before the King of Kings - our Heavenly Father - to truly be worthy to be in his church and partake of the Sacrament.
"Obedience is the Price. Faith is the Power. Love is the Motive. Spirit is the Key. Christ is the Reason." - Sister Tanya Huntsman (RM from Japan)
The Lord knows us better than we know ourselves; therefore, we should submit our will to his and allow him to guide us through our life.
The story of "The Currant Bush" as told by President Hugh B. Brown retold by Elder D. Todd Christofferson
Sunday evening, we had the Buffalo Ridge Youth Missionary Fireside. It was awesome. President Whitehead spoke to us about becoming a good missionary and how all of the preparations we make now will prepare us for all aspects of our life: marriage, a new calling or job and school.
Here is some advice that was shared for those preparing to serve a mission. I figures I would share it since at least one person reading/listening to this email is preparing to serve a mission in the near future.
Pray. Listen. Learn to Cook. Obedience. Bare Testimony. Temple Attendance. Physically Fit. Faith. Learn to Recognize the Spirit. Endure. Just Do It. Willing to Serve with all Your Heart. Work. Rely on Others and the Lord. Fast. Learn to Communicate. Community. Study the Book of Mormon. Atonement. Be Unique. Avoid Depression. Tract/Teach (learn). Desire. Be Worthy. Hope. Lean on vs. Turn to. Charity. Get along with your Companion. Invite. Be Yourself. Become Comfortable.
All of these things/attributes/goals/tools/etc will help you learn how to be an awesome missionary. I wish I had learned more of them before my mission.
This letter I know is very short and very open and empty. Sorry! I hope you all will have learned something though from what I have shared. I love you all and I hope your missionary efforts are as successful if not more so than mine are. Letters will be coming.
Love,
Sister Bryans
