Hello All,
This letter will be short and sweet. Not because I
don't love you and want you to know everything about my life, but because I
can't think of any inspiring thoughts to share with you that will help you grow
spiritually except for these. So please listen closely and hopefully the Spirit will touch you in some way as you read this.
On Thursday we had interviews with President Brown during district meeting. I was in charge of the training during district meeting. The topic for my training was Baptism for the Remission of Sins. It went well.
We have also done quite a bit of service this past week. We helped an elderly less active sister in the ward clean out her back room and get it organized. And we also had a very fun service day at the VA hospital.
All the talks were wonderful. What were some of your favorites?!?
We also had the opportunity to watch the new Scripture Legacy video put out
by the church. It was so good! If/when you have the opportunity, you should
watch it. The spirit can be felt as you watch it, and they have some awesome LDS
actors in it. Plus, D. Todd Christofferson is just the coolest man ever, and he
gets to narrate the video.
We picked up two new investigators this week: Cadence and her mom Lindsey.
They are a really cute family. Cadence wants to be baptized, but her mom is
still very reluctant to have any part with the church.
Did I tell you we have been doing a lot of tracting? We got to talk with an
Atheist gentleman, and he told us all about what Atheist's conclude. ("Atheists
don't believe in anything" he told us.) I felt bad for the poor man. We also met
a man named Dave, he is searching for truth. We gave him a Book of Mormon and a
Restoration Pamphlet and told him to call us if we had any questions. He said he
would read what we gave him. I have high hopes for this man.
And finally an amazing miracle: There is a family in the ward named the
Norviel's. They are not active, and they are a part member family. We have
another sister in the ward: Sister Bailey; she found out that Sister Norviel
wanted a bread recipe that had been lost. So Sister Bailey gave it to us to give
to Sister Norviel. We have had that recipe for over a month (it was that same
recipe that I botched last week). We finally delivered the recipe to her on
Tuesday of last week with a loaf of homemade bread that Sister Groesbeck made.
She was so excited! This little recipe has opened the door for us to visit with
that family. We are able to go over and talk with them in their home instead of
at the door like missionaries past have done. And they have even offered to feed
us dinner in the near future. Sister Norviel is so grateful that we brought her
that recipe! Through small and simple means are great things brought to pass. I
love this family, and I know that as we act with the Spirit, their family will
be able to come back to church and partake in the saving ordinances of the
temple.
I hope what I have shared has been inspiring. I will send a few pictures
from the past few weeks adventures.
Love you,
