Newness of Transfer, Life, Spirit and Companion

Hello One and All!
Life is grand as usual!
Transfers happened Tuesday. And as usual it was stormy and cold. We waited at the Stake Center for Sister Christensen (my companion) and Sister Young (Sister Zvirzdin's companion). They were driving up from Loveland with a brand new Jeep for the Rawlin's area. So, when Sister Christensen and I were finally united, we went home to get some unpacking done before dinner which we ate at the Wardle's house. I love their family. They are the best! Then we stopped over and saw Sister McCormick and Bishop. I love them too.
On Wednesday, we taught four lessons and introduced Sister C. to some of the ward. One of the sisters we visited was Sister Spackman. She showed us the quilts that her daughter had made for her, and she also gave us each a lap afghan that she crocheted herself.
We also did some service at the VA hospital which is always fun. I got to talk with a man named Tom and with Bill again. Bill is so sweet. He told me that Jennifer (the lady in charge of all the activities) is his best friend because she is so helpful and good to him. It was cute.
Thursday was an adventure. We ate lunch with Nancy and taught her about prayer and commit her to read Enos 1. She is so much fun. I wish she didn't have to work on Sunday's, so she could come to church with us.
We also had a really fun district meeting. The elders want snacks, so I am in charge. I said I would make a peanut butter pie. That will be fun. (Luckily I have a lot of cookies and candy I can pass out each week thanks to the Branch and the wonderful package they sent ) Ps. The new elders in our district: Elder Springer - he has been out for 6 months and spent all of that time down in Boulder, CO; Elder Tyler - he has been in our district before as District Leader. He has since been called as a Zone Leader; Elder Maola(sp) - he is awaiting a visa to go to South Africa. He has been out 10 days...or less.
We also taught Dave the workout guy. (I don't know his last name yet. ) He is still reading the Book of Mormon and is in the Isaiah chapters of 2nd Nephi. It's awesome. He says he doesn't want to go to church with us yet, but I think someday he might. He also told us he doesn't usually let people talk to him about religion, so something touched his Spirit when Sister Z and I stopped by a month ago. (Woah...has it really been that long?)
Friday, Sister C. had MLC's, so she and two other sisters went down to Loveland while I worked with their companions. We were able to do some service at one of the museums down here that is near the Air Force, but that was it. It was a lot of fun.
We also went to a baptism for the Eastridge Sisters. It was so good and super spiritual. Miracles really do happen!
I also received my package that day as it was delivered to me by our Zone Leaders. I was so happy! Thanks to all who donated for the cause of a Happy Sister Bryans. You totally made my day!
Saturday, was a busy day. We had weekly planning to do to make up for Friday. We also were able to do some service at the Goodwill. I love serving over there. It makes me feel like I am back home working at Kmart.
We also were able to go to the evening session of Stake Conference. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Elder Payne from the 70 was there. I talked to him a little bit about WI/MN and the weather. He is such an awesome man. We also were able to see President and Sister Brown. They are the best mission president and wife ever! I love and sustain them so much. (Let me just say that at the end of the meeting that night, I was beaming from ear to ear.) Miracles happen.... and we may have a baptism soon.
Sunday was equally amazing! I could pretty much die happily as I listen to words spoken by inspiration through the Spirit. We also had a really amazing family discussion with the Dobson's about Preach My Gospel. Have I told you that I am pretty much in love with that book?!
I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ! I can see the happiness it brings into the lives of others and I can see the happiness that it has brought to my life.
I love you all! Keep up your missionary efforts at home. Remember Elder Ballard's talk: invite someone to meet with the missionaries once a quarter and study from Preach My Gospel.
LOVE,
Sister Bryans
