A New Area, A New Companion, A New Adventure!!!

*Warning... this email will not be politically correct.*
Hello to all my FAVORITE people out there in the wide world of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!
Life is fantastic!
I am in Fort Collins, Colorado at present - serving in the Parkwood Ward. It is a brand new ward of less than 1 year, and it is very small activity wise. I love it. My companion is Sister M. Johnson. (We have two Sister Johnson's in this mission.) She is a feisty sister from Cincinnati, Ohio. She's the best! She's been out almost 1 year. She is 1 of 11 children. And she went to an all black school growing up. I am no longer the ghetto black lady of the companionship. She totally trumps. She's got the talk, the walk and the attitude of a black lady. I love it!
The transfer went really smoothly until we got into our area. I rode down with Sister Fillmore and Sister Urness in a blue truck that the Cheyenne Zone Leaders drive. And we followed the Cheyenne East Zone Leaders down in their slate grey truck. It was great! We were packed full to the brim, and I am proud to say that I had the least amount of stuff. (Thanks for the duffle bag by the way. It came in really handy.) We made it safely to the Loveland Stake Center where I met Sister Zvirzdin. It brought back memories.  I met Sister Johnson who gave me the keys. I DRIVE! Woohoo! I miss driving, though sometimes driving in Fort Collins is terrifying.
Anyways, so eventually we left the Stake Center and followed Sister Urness and Sister Clark. But they drive way faster than I do. (I like to drive the speed limit.) So I lost them...or perhaps they lost us. And we were lost - very, very lost. So Sister Johnson called a sister in the ward who was able to get us back into Fort Collins. And then we got lost getting to our house, so we called some other sisters in the Zone and they helped us get to the Stake Center where we followed the Sister Trainer Leaders to Walmart, so we could do some quick shopping. And then they led us home. CRAZY! We proceeded to get lost for the rest of the night and ended up blowing 85.3 miles. It was fantastic! Wednesday was a little better we didn't get as lost, so we only blew 50 miles. Oh well! We have 1100 in this area.
Wednesday we had District Meeting which might have been really boring. We also got two GPS's. One from the Elders and another from the Sparks family.
This week has been busy with service. We do 4 hours at Catholic Charities which is a soup kitchen. We helped with watermelon, and chips and buns and the chicken patties. Then we served the food. And they let us eat some of the food too. No complaints for free lunch. We also did some farm work at Farmer Joe's house. We worked with the whole Zone and picked up garbage, weeded and laid mulch. It was a party! He has ducks, chickens, goats and he wants pigs on top of just a regular vegetable garden. CRAZY! Then we ate pizza afterwards before heading out. We also helped Emily move from her apartment to the O'hares Sunday morning before church. (I'll tell more about Emily later.)
Church was great yesterday. This ward is definitely different compared to Buffalo Ridge. It is also very different compared to the Chippewa Falls Branch. We meet at 1:00pm, but they do church in reverse. We start with RS/PH and finish with Sacrament Meeting. It's not my favorite schedule, but it works. This ward also seems really young. Not many old people, but tons of young families with kids. It's fun. It's a more reserved ward than Buffalo Ridge, but we'll work on that.
Ok, so Emily. She is AMAZING! She is a school teacher. And a convert of 3 years, but she might as well have been a member all her life. She converted from the RLDS/ Community of Christ church. I've only known her for two days, but she is fantastic! I love her so much! She is the best! She was kind enough to take us out to eat on Saturday when the ward BBQ was canceled due to the weather. (Sister Johnson and I were so sad! ) But it was ok. Because we were able to go to the HuHot Mongolian grill. SO GOOD! SO MUCH FOOD. MY BELLY MIGHT HAVE EXPLODED! *Nathan, thou shouldst get a job there.*
Anyways, on top of the delicious Asian food we had, we also had s'mores. I LOVE S'MORES! And we might have lit stuff on fire in the restaurant - like the little skewer stick used for roasting shmallows. We burnt marshmallows, and our fortunes too. It was awesome!!! I've never had so much fun in my entire life!
I LOVE IT HERE! I love my companion. I love the area. I love the ward. I love you all! I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I love the Book of Mormon. Life is beautiful and wonderful all at the same time.
Love,
Sister Bryans
PS. If you're bored and want a good laugh read Deuteronomy 23:12-14 and pay really close attention...like look at the footnotes. *This is more important than the words of Christ and his apostles what?!?*
