Hello to all of my Spiritual Ninja's out there!
Where did this last week go? The time is just flying by, and
the desire to improve and become a better missionary grows ever stronger. So
what do numbers have to show for it....? NOTHING! It is truly the people that
matter and the spirit filled experiences that change the lives, hearts and
attitudes of people. Not the number. Not the missionary. It is the Spiritual
Miracle!
So what spiritual miracles have I seen this week? Well let
me tell you so you know.
This week, I have seen an investigator feel the Spirit. Cute
Jessica V. share in Young Women's yesterday what she learned about Baptism and
the Confirmation of the Holy Ghost. Through this experience, the Spirit was
felt! Realizations were made, and doubts came forth. Jessica shared that she
would like to be baptized, but that she doesn't know if her Mom will support
her in it. She is such a strong young woman! I love her so much! I know that
the Spirit will be with her as she tells her Mother. And I know that with
faith, prayer and fasting, her mother's heart will be softened, and she will
know that the decision being made by her daughter is one that will change
and benefit her daughter in a positive way. I am so grateful to have
had the opportunity to witness the Spirit work a miracle.
Another miracle I saw was the opportunity we had to visit an
84 year old woman named Gert. This was a miracle because she lives with her
inactive daughter Pamela. This also claimed miracle status because Pamela
stayed in the kitchen while we shared a message with her mother. This is also a
miracle because Pamela took the time to talk to us and let us get to know her
while we were there. I am so grateful to have witnessed this small
manifestation of the Spirit.
This weeks service experiences were also tiny manifestations
of the Spirit. We were able to clean house for another of our investigators,
Sister Marchant, as she rested with her brand new baby. We were also able to do
some weeding for Farmer Joe and his family, non-members related to our Relief
Society president. These interactions allow us to bring the Spirit into their
lives for a short period of time and it also allows us to get to know them
better, so we can address their spiritual needs.
The stake baptism we went to was another opportunity for a
miracle to present itself. Sister Marchant was invited by the Sister Hirschi,
the mother of one of the boys being baptized, to come to the baptism. This was
her first experience seeing a baptism, and we were able to be there, to answer
questions and to sit with her during the baptism. It was such a good
experience, and I hope that she was able to feel the Spirit.
So here are some of the miracles I have seen from this past
weeks work.
It was also a hard week as we knocked doors in search for
new investigators. This area has so much potential. I hate to see the
distractions of Satan get in the way of the still small voice of the
Spirit.
The work will go on. Our spiritual energies have been
recharged. Nothing Satan does can stop the work from progressing. I know the
Gospel is the Good News that changes lives if they will be obedient and live
worthy of its influence.
Love,
SIster Bryans
Remember to share the gospel in many different unique ways,
and remember to take time for the Spirit to penetrate your life!
Love,
Sister Bryans
