Another Day, Another Week, Another Transfer

Hello All,
Another week has flown by. Another Preparation day is upon us. And, today is the start of the new transfer. I will be staying in Fort Collins for another 6 weeks with Sister Johnson. Woohoo!
We are both doing well and trying to stay positive. This area can be really hard. I blame it on the temple being built. Satan is doing everything he can to keep people from being able to enter into the temple and be sealed as eternal families. It is really sad.
But, on a happier note. Sister Johnson and I are staying together.
So what has happened this week...I don't even know. All the weeks start to blend together. All the days become one, and the mission just becomes a blurry haze.
This week we were able to visit with two less active young women named Gabby and Bethany. They are the coolest young women ever. We were able to get to know them and share a message with them. They haven't been to church in 6 years, so it was really awesome to visit with them and talk about the gospel. When we read a scripture and prayed, Gabby said, "I haven't read scriptures or prayed in a while. This feels really good. I think I should start doing it again." WHAT?!?! I was so grateful that the Spirit was present and able to touch her heart. =D
Also, we met the cutest boy on Tuesday. He is almost 9 and is the Grandson of Sister Knox (one of the ladies in our ward). SO CUTE! <3 When we stopped by, he was watching TV in the living room while we sat in the kitchen with Sister Knox. Then he turned off the TV and came over to talk to us and show us his Switch and Go Dino Toys. They are like transformers, but dinosaurs instead of robots. I was like - if Nathan was still a little kid, he probably would love these. Anyways, so he was showing them to us and telling us all about dinosaurs. It was awesome! He truly was a mini Nathan. ;D It was great! He was also showing us all of the dinosaur moves and noises he could do. He really fancied us as he escorted us out the door and tried to escort us to our car. Unfortunately, I parked the car across the street, and he's not allowed to cross the street. (I wish I was better at describing the experience....)
On Wednesday, we had Macaroni and Cheese at the Vail's house. I was so excited!!! No one ever feeds us kid food. They always feed us a seven course dinner instead. I like kid food. Grilled Cheese, mac-n-cheese....kid food! I was so happy to have kid food to eat. And it was pretty darn tasty too. (Makes me want mac-n-cheese right now.)
We also visited an eccentric less active woman named Tracee. She's a funny lady. But, her situation is kinda sad. She never wants to come back to church. It is really sad to see how many woman fall away from the church because of the issue with woman and the priesthood, how we are treated in the church and the lack of equality ("Woman are subservient"). It is so sad! =(
So I am learning that I am absolutely terrible at chess. Sister Johnson and I play it during our lunch breaks sometimes. We also play it on P-day at the library if they have the giant yard set out. And we play it at night when we can't sleep - it does happen sometimes...like after a long day or a day where we take a long nap, on accident of course. =P
And this weekend was an adventure. Sister Fenton was out of town in the Mountains watching her son get married, so we had the house and both of the dogs to ourselves to take care of. Oh Lanta! So we woke up on Saturday morning to an empty package of oreo's, chewed up shoes and a chewed up planner - all Sister Johnson's. Ooops!
We also taught KJ and Athena. They are now our newest investigators. Hopefully, we can get more of the family involved because right now only Athena (age 7) is teh focus because they want her to be exposed to Christianity and learn about God and the Glowing Baby (Jesus Christ).
Yesterday, we helped out in primary. We came in during Sharing Time and talked about the Holy Ghost for a little bit. It was a lot of fun. The kids were super excited to have us there, and they were really participatory which was great. I don't understand Junior and Senior primaries yet though....probably because I have never been part of a primary with more than 5 kids in it. Oh well...Someday!
So that was pretty much our week in a nutshell. I hope you enjoyed the read, and it wasn't too boring.
Love,
Sister Bryans

Ps. I would like to invite you all to read, study, ponder and pray about Elder Ballard's talk Follow Up from the April 2014 General Conference. Then tell me what you learned and thought. Thanks!
