To all my favorite family member and friends!
YOU ARE GREAT! Thanks for tuning in each week and
participating in small and simple ways in my mission. You are all wonderful and
I couldn't have done it without you. You all mean the world to me. This week
has been extra exciting and super entertaining! <3 I just love the Lord and
being able to see and be a part of the many great and wonderful miracles He has
in store for His children is the coolest experience of a lifetime. I love it!
So what all happened this week:
Well, on Monday as part of our Pday adventures, we went to
The Brew which is a super cute cafe that sells crepes. Oh my lanta they were so
yummy!
Tuesday we continued to do service for the Thrift Store. I
just love doing service there. It was really busy this week. Lots of donation
pick ups on top of a bunch of clothing sorting. It was great!
Wednesday, we were able to do more service at Hope which was
nice. We folded a billion and one blankets that had been donated. That was fun.
Especially since my hand was sore and swollen. It seems to be happening a lot
more recently. Not a fan! Mom and the Merrill's says it's stress - it probably
is. I could also potentially be sleeping on it wrong too. Who knows? I'll be
grateful when I'm resurrected some day and have a perfect body and I don't have
to worry about falling apart all the time. ;)
Anyways - we also had a fantastic dinner with Patriarch
Lehman and his family. They are so cool, and I love them so much. Patriarch
Lehman is a Spiritual genius and always just knows exactly what to say and
when. <3 He's great! I really admire him tons.
And, we were finally able to meet with Rachel N. and her
family. Because Sister Guymon has an iPad, we were able to watch
#BecasueHeLives with them. It was a powerful experience and the Spirit was SUPER
strong. :D
Thursday was special. The training in District Meeting was
all about iPads and it was given by the Zone Leaders. I didn't super care a
whole lot, so my sassy/snarky side came out a bit more than it should. Oh well,
the Spirit was still felt and we still learned enough I think.
After District Meeting, Chris came for his Baptism
Interview. It took a whole lot longer than I thought it was going to. Usually
the interview only takes like 30 minutes tops....it took closer to an hour.
WHAT?!?! So we just played the piano and talked with Elder Clavel and watched
videos on Sister G's iPad while we waited. It was fun.
Our dinner was with Ron. He is so great! I just love him
SOOOOO much. We talked about an "Escape Plan" to protect us from the
temptations and trials that Satan throws at us. It was really cool and totally
directed by the Spirit. PLUS! We were able to use one of the new booklets that
were given to us by our mission to help us use the iPads more effectively. It
was way cool.
Friday, we had the opportunity to do a district service
project up in Lyons. We were helping to set up for the Lyons Outdoor Adventure.
(They do BMX biking and a couple of running races, and a kayaking race along
with a bunch of other stuff.) Anyways, so we helped set up a couple of tents
and moved fencing and raked mulch over the mud piles and hung banners. :D It
was great! And the weather was relatively nice to begin with and then it dumped
a ton of rain on us. We stayed dry during the first dump and then got drenched
during the second one. I'm pretty sure I had mud and water EVERYWHERE! It was
great. <3 Plus I got to wear pants which is even better.
Saturday was Chris's baptism. It went very well and was a
lovely service. His family came and really liked it. They felt the Spirit I
think, and they were super proud of Chris's decision. :D I love when families
are willing to support one another. It brings me great joy!
We also learned that Elder L. Tom Perry passed away. So sad.
:(
Church was really good Sunday. I didn't necessarily learn
anything super insightful, but I did enjoy partaking of the Sacrament and
having the time to pray and ponder the courses that my life is starting to
take.
To end the week, we had one final Mission Prep class. I'm
gonna miss the youth and the Bhuler's. They have all made such a huge impact on
my life. It was cool too. We got to teach a little bit about planning and we
also listened/talked about teaching the Apostasy. The Apostasy is SOOOOOOO
confusing, but truly it is an absence of Light and Truth, and it happens ALL
THE TIME!
*sigh* so that was our long exciting week in a nutshell. The
work is continuing to progress smoothly and we are striving to follow the
Lord's will for us in helping others find conversion and also in helping each
other become more fully converted to the gospel ourselves. Heavenly Father is
so mindful of each one of us and knows exactly what we need to hear and when.
I love you all and I hope you are enjoying your first few
weeks of summer. Stay strong and Hold on tight to the Rod!
Love with all my heart!
Sister Bryans
