I'm sorry but this will be rather short due to the majority of Pday being spent at a stake activity and then geeking out with a pair of elders, haha.
So here's a clip from my weekly to President :)
Our area is growing!! We ate dinner with the Bishop and he told us he didn't want us transferred because of the good work we are doing here. That was such a highlight of the day! I feel that we have better gained the trust of our auxiliaries and that as we continue to work hard they better understand our purpose here. Our ward mission leader is still struggling in his calling, but we are looking for the positives and expressing gratitude for the good he does do. We are trying to find other ways to help him be informed and involved since he struggles to have ward correlation meetings with us. I think everything is going to just keep getting better!
The greatest miracle of the week was Alberto. He is a friend of a young woman in the ward, Katelyn, and she's been sharing the gospel with him and gave him a book of Mormon and a while a go he was meeting with missionaries. Well we were able to teach him this week and it was an incredible lesson! The spirit was so strong, we taught him in a Dunkin Donuts that they work at and by the time the lesson was over that dunkin felt like a part of the church, it was so spirit filled. Sister Beecher taught so powerfully! She bore testimony and did an incredible job helping Alberto to recognise the spirit. Because of the power in the lesson we invited him to set a baptism date and now he is preparing to be baptized on September 30th! It was so awesome, the best part was when we wrote down the date he added all the exclamation points and then committed to meet with us twice a week so he can be prepared. It was such a testimony to me that member missionaries can help change peoples lives! And even if missionaries loose contact they won't and can keep helping them along the pathway. And I know that there are people who are prepared for our message, God loves his children and he's going to bring them home. Alberto came to church Sunday and he loved it, truly he is so prepared.
Now we'll add some study thoughts,
Wow! How do I even begin? Charity defined is the pure love of Christ, meaning it is the atonement of Christ. His willing sacrifice in our behalf, and it will never fail. Charity is something that helps us to become like God. Because from true charity flows all other virtues, including obedience and compassion. It is directly connected with faith and hope, because the three attribute together give us an eternal perspective. True faith leads to hope in our future and hope allows us to love others without fear. Charity like faith leads to action, when filled with charity we turn outward and seek blessings and help for others. Charity motivates all the work we do within the church. To develop charity we need to follow the council found in the scriptures to, "ask, seek and knock." He wants us to have charity and so he will enable us through the atonement to develop it little by little everyday.
