Hello All,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (How many exclamation points can I put next to that phrase?)
I
hope you all had a safe New Years Eve. I know Sister Woods and I did.
The mission curfew was 6:30p that night, and since we ate dinner at home
that night, it felt like we were at home forever. Oh well. It all
worked out in the end. Plus we ate pancakes and what sister missionary
doesn't love pancakes?! =D
Monday and Tuesday, I
wasn't feeling super great, so we stayed home for the greater part of
the two days. It was nothing major. Just a sore throat and I was super
cold. Eventually, I pulled myself out of bed and we went out and worked,
but it was really good that I rested - and ate a ton of garlic and
honey (both natural antibiotics). It was an adventure.
It
was a blessing that I followed my own advice to: "Suck it up,
Buttercup!" and get out of bed because we had an important dinner/lesson
with a non-member named Dave. And I needed to be there to help my
companion teach.
It was a phenomenal visit. We had a
very tasty dinner and then we taught the Restoration of the Gospel.
Dave has such great questions and I think he is genuinely interested. He
was most interested in the Book of Mormon. And he talked a lot which
was fantastic! It helped us learn so much about what his thoughts were
in regard to what we were teaching him. (Most people we teach are super
silent and just absorb...maybe...what we say but don't give us any
feedback on how they are understanding what we teach.) So, the end
result of our visit was that Dave is now our newest investigator.
HUZZAH!
Just in time for me to leave!
That's
right ladies and gentleman, I'm being transferred. I am needed in
Longmont to share the gospel with the good people in the Mountain View
ward. And my new companion will be Sister Nolan. I'm kind of excited!
Well.... I'm excited to move. I'm not super excited to pack and clean for an eternity. YIKES!
So
do you want to know my favorite chapter in the New Testament is? It's
Roman's chapter 8. I just love it SOOOOOO much! You should all read it.
Did I tell you that you are all super great?! You are!
I
am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and all that it does to
bless my life. I love the scriptures. They are probably my most favorite
part of the gospel. I learn so much when I open their pages and read
the words that have been carefully prepared to help me learn about my
Savior and the love that our Heavenly Father has for each of his
children.
I wish you all the best this year of 2015! I hope you all pondered some goals that you can accomplish this year.
Love you all,
Sister Bryans
