Hellos to everyone!
This week I took
another "exciting" trip to Kagoshima by way of the islands ferry. I
really don't like the boat it rocks too much. I got to meet my new mission
president though! His name is President Egan.
And he apparently was a consultant for a whole bunch of
theme parks in the U.S. So needles to say he likes to have fun! I also had a cool thought during our work this week.
We were riding our bikes up a really big hill. I noticed
when I stopped pedaling for a little bit starting up again was almost
impossible, but when I gave a little bit of power consistently I could climb
the hill with ease! The same thing can be said of faith. If we don't strengthen
our faith daily with the small simple things then it will seem to hard to start
again and we'll give up. But if we give a little bit everyday we can make it
over the biggest hills and enjoy the view from the top! (This can be applied to work and school too)
We also had a typhoon last week which was crazy to ride bikes in. We have
another one due next Tuesday. Oh the joys of living on an island.
Elder Ogawa and I are still finding new people but we are still losing people
too. I think I'm hitting a plateau in my language study recently. It may be
time for a new study plan. I speak all the Japanese I can to Elder Ogawa but I
definitely could be speaking more to him and others. To be honest I haven't
been studying PMG as much as I should. Just more things I can improve in. Elder
Ogawa and I have been studying charity for this transfer. It's much more
multifaceted than I thought but it's so easy to receive it if you ask! When we
do splits the zone leaders come here and do splits here. And yes it is just the
four of us on the island. We are the Naze district and probably the smallest
district in the mission. I met President Egan last Tuesday he's a cool person. We
have two appointments tomorrow. I ride my bike more than I sleep! And the hills
around here are crazy! You're either going straight up a wall or it's flat. No
in-between.
I love you all. I'm praying for you!
Elder Bryans
