Aloha! This has been quite a week for us, but we've worked hard and done our best. We struggled to find any new investigators this week. But we have made some very good meaningful contact. We are trying very hard to be a blessing and not a burden to this ward. And we are working to get better unified with our leaders. I know that as we work together in unity we will be able to find and help the work move forward here. Huzzah!
Our investigator Judy got some cold feet this week. We had set a baptism date with her on Tuesday and on Thursday she called us saying she decided she'd stay Catholic. It was very sad and she sounded like she no longer wanted to meet with us. Needless to say some tears were shed. But we agreed to meet on Saturday still to discuss things. To prepare we fasted and prayed and studied like crazy and it all paid off. She doesn't want to stop meeting with us she just feels like she needs to move a bit slower pace. We agreed to keep meeting as long as she keeps commitment, she said she would. She is afraid to change and doesn't want to make a commitment without being able to keep it. But she does want to be baptized! We felt the spirit so strong as we spoke and listened to her. I know her concerns are real, and thankfully we have a few members of the ward who want to help out as member presents. It was super amazing! We're not giving up yet and I know with the Lord she'll get to baptism.
We had a tradeoff with sister Periera and Tryon this week. Sister Beecher went with sister Tryon and I stayed in Oak Leaf with Sister Periera. Sister Periera is such an incredible missionary. I loved working with her for the day. She is consecrated and a powerful example. I am learning so much from her selfless service. I trust her and I know this transfer hasn't been very easy for her but she is persevering and I admire that so much. I am so thankful for her friendship and love and support. She really helped me with my focus and is just so great. #mtcCompanions4ever!
Sister Beecher is incredible! She has really pushed herself this week. She is so committed to this work and loves serving the Lord. She is so obedient and we've agreed that if we continue to do our part we will keep seeing miracles. I admire her so much, she is so humble and teachable. I just love that she listens to my council and advice. I know I can trust her to do the work and be a blessing not a burden. She loves this ward so much and truly I admire her dedication. She is such a powerhouse!!
I got a blessing this week from Elder Hosking. It was very good and helpful. It really just helped me to refocus on the work and try to realign myself to this work. I know that I have been called here for a purpose and that the Lord is going to help me to fulfill that. I was reminded of God's love for me and of his high expectations. I think it's wonderful that he knows who we can become and his whole work it getting us there. I love him and I love serving him.
I love you all so very, very much. Have a blessed week and choose happy every day.
Xoxo, Sister Bryans
Dear Sister Bryans, Fine work! You know, a lot of our great converts were Catholic. Former Catholics can talk to investigators and answer many of their concerns. You probably already know this. But, I know that Adam helped a lot get baptized. So did Corita. Hang in there! You are a special daughter of Heavenly Father's! He knows you can do it! Love you! Judy and Steve
